Pipe PPRCT 125 THE FUTURE OF PIPING
This is a Polypropylene random
polymerization of modified crystallinity, the characteristics of which are:
-Higher strengths than classic PPR as specified in EN 15874 and DIN 8077, especially at high temperatures.
-PPRCT, according to European standards, does not show transition and change of slope in the logarithmic diagrams of hydraulic resistances due to its excellent aging behavior.
Based on these data, it is recommended to use the specific material in demanding installations
of district heating even when the supply temperature is 100ºC. To fully understand the mechanical strengths of PPRCT some values from DIN and EN tables are given below.
PPR, Temperature 80ºC SDR 7.4, 25 years, 6.2 bar.
PPRCT, Temperature 80ºC SDR 7.4, 25 years, 10.9 bar.
This data allows us to proceed with the reduction of the wall thickness and the corresponding production in SDR 9 where for a temperature of 80ºC, in SDR 9, for 25 years the pipe will withstand 8.6 bar i.e. while we reduced the wall thickness
endurance increased. It is worth noting that Interplast, by using PPRCT 125, achieves strengths much greater than those mentioned above.
