COMOPEX Plastic Heating Pipes

Interplast pipes are a wide range of pipes for hot and cold water plumbing. Como-pex pipes are produced in cross-sections from 12mm to 32mm and are available in coils or straight sections.

Como-pex pipes are produced from cross-linked polyethylene. With the help of silanes and conditions of high temperature and humidity, chemical bonds are achieved between the molecular chains of the polyethylene, creating the network. The result of this process is a material with advanced characteristics.

Como-pex pipes combine flexibility, tensile strength, and high temperatures. They have a low coefficient of friction and a smooth outer surface that prevents scale build-up. They are designed for a lifetime of over 50 years, for temperatures up to 95°C and with operating pressures from 6 to 10 bar. Temperature peaks of 110°C at a pressure of 4 bar do not affect Como-pex pipes which, due to their networked structure, return to original their form.

Como-pex tubes are produced with or without an oxygen barrier. The pipes exceed the European standard EN 12318 and the German DIN 16892/16893. Pipes with an oxygen barrier layer also comply with DIN 4726 and are suitable for applications in heating installations. The outer layer of EVOH does not allow oxygen to enter the pipe and causes corrosion to the metal parts of the system.

Como-pex pipes are certified for their mechanical strength by SKZ of Germany and AENOR of Spain as well as for their suitability for drinking water by WRAS of Great Britain and have been tested by ELOT and the State General Chemistry.

Warranty: 30 years for the pipe and 10 years for the metal parts in terms of tightness of the connections, by ALLIANZ for a sum of money up to €3,000,000.
