MATRIKX® Pb1® Extruded Activated Carbon Filters reduce soluble lead using an ion exchange filter with exceptional soluble lead specificity. Particulate filtration is used to block undissolved particles containing lead. Standard 2.50” x 10” filters reduce lead and meet NSF/ANSI Standard 53 performance requirements for over 10,000 liters when operating at 2.84 LPM flow. Manufactured using KX®'s proprietary extrusion process, MATRIKX® Pb1® filters deliver extremely high levels of chemical reduction in drinking water, including the unpleasant taste and odor of chlorine. MATRIKX® Pb1® filters meet NSF/ANSI Standard 53, reducing turbidity and cysts, including Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Entamoeba, and Toxoplasma.

EXCITED CHARCOAL = GREAT PRICE
MATRIKX® Pb1® filters consist of activated carbon particles fused into a uniform block with enhanced absorption capacity and efficiency. MATRIKX® Pb1® filters flow in a radial (out-to-in) direction, providing increased particle retention capacity and low-pressure drop. Unlike granular activated carbon (GAC) filters, MATRIKX® Pb1® filters do not bleed or bypass due to the extreme uniformity of their activated carbon core. The life of the MATRIKX® Pb1® filter is greatly extended due to the pre-filter it uses.

  • It does not channel
  • It is not liquidated
  • It doesn't bypass
  • Lower extractable, cleaner construction materials
  • Maximum lifetime and resistance to pollution
  • Prefilter density-graded design
  • Manufactured using materials that meet U.S. specifications. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • Color-coded flanges and caps

IMPORTANT NOTE: Performance requirements are based on a complete system, including a filter, tank, and connection to a pressurized water source. This filter must be placed in an appropriate system, and operated within the system's specifications, in order to deliver the required performance. It is essential to follow the operational, maintenance, and replacement requirements of the filter as per the instructions for each application so that the filter and system will function properly. Read the manufacturer's performance data sheet that came with the system and change the filter as recommended. Impurities or other substances removed or reduced by this water filter are not necessarily present in all users' water.

NOTES
1. Predicted ability to reduce chlorine taste and odor when tested in accordance with NSF/ANSI Standard 42 protocol.
2. Nominally rated particles (0.5μm) are for >85% of a given size as determined by single-pass particle counting results.*
3. The absolute particle score (1μ m) is for >99.9% of particles of a given size as determined by single-pass particle counting results.**
* Nominal Filter Rating: The filter rating indicates the approximate size of particles, the majority of which will not pass through the filter. It is generally interpreted to mean that 85% of particles of size equal to the nominal micron will be retained by the filter. (WQA Glossary of Terms, Third Edition, 3-97).
** Absolute Filter Rating: A filter rating that means 99.9% (or essentially all) of particles larger than a certain micron will be trapped on or within the filter. (WQA Glossary of Terms, Third Edition, 3-97).

WARNINGS

MATRIKX® filters should not be autoclaved or steam sterilized. Use the MATRIKX®Pb1® activated carbon filter only with microbiologically safe and adequately disinfected water, as it is not designed to kill or remove bacteria and viruses. Actual results obtained will vary depending on various combinations of organic impurities, differences in pH, or other conditions encountered in actual use. All information presented here is based on data believed to be reliable. They are offered for evaluation and verification, but should not be considered a guarantee of any kind.

MATRIKX® filters are designed to fit most residential, commercial, and industrial system containers. This filter must be placed in a suitable container and rinsed at least 5 minutes before use.
