Solar energy is characterized by the set of various forms of energy that come from the Sun. Such are light or luminous energy, heat or thermal energy as well as various radiations or radiant energy.
Solar energy as a whole is practically inexhaustible since it comes from the sun, and therefore there are no space and time limitations for its exploitation.
